Marchand (lower body) is expected to be out for weeks due to a lingering injury, George Richards of NHL.com reports Monday.

Has grown from world-class pest into world-class all-around player and continues to be one of the NHL's most effective wingers in his 30s. Plays much bigger than his 5'9" frame would suggest. Dangerous offensively, he is also excellent as a penalty killer. Plays right up to the edge, and sometimes over it; he can be his own worst enemy at times.
